To celebrate, NPMA offers consumers new online resource and special podcast at Pestworld.org
April 1 (FAIRFAX, Va.) The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) celebrates April as National Pest Management Month, an observance that has been recognized by the President of the United States for nearly 30 years. National Pest Management Month salutes the professional pest control industry for playing a key role in protecting both health and homes from significant pest-borne threats.
In 2009, NPMA is celebrating National Pest Management Month by launching its newly developed online resource for consumers. Now available on the consumer education web site, Pestworld.org, NPMAs interactive Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Disposal Map provides consumers with current, state-by-state information on how they can proactively dispose of HHW materials within their locality. This newly developed section also provides a comprehensive list of HHW items that need to be specially disposed of by homeowners.
More, NPMA has recorded a special episode of its well-regarded podcast series, which provides listeners with expert information on properly selecting a pest professional as well as added detail regarding the new Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Disposal Map on Pestworld.org. This podcast, in addition to previous episodes, are available for free download at Pestworld.org and iTunes.
According to Missy Henriksen, vice president of public affairs for NPMA, National Pest Management Month continues to be an important way to highlight and publicly acknowledge the hard work that pest professionals do day in and day out. Protecting our valued customers homes and families is not something this industry takes lightly and NPMA is pleased to honor this important work with a month-long celebration.
