Pest PSA Contest Winners Enjoy the Spotlight

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) honored eight smiling and excited sixth grade students from Red Bank Middle School in Red Bank, New Jersey at a news conference yesterday for their clever and creative work on producing the winning public service announcement (PSA) titled “Club Roach,” for NPMA’s inaugural Pest PSA Contest .

According to their music and art teachers, these young filmmakers took the reins of this project from start to finish.  It turns out Red Bank students are a power house when it comes to entering and placing in technical contests, but this is their first win.  NPMA is so proud of these youngsters, who not only produced a great PSA, but took the time to educate themselves about pests.

Because of their creativity and hard work, Red Bank Borough Public Schools received the $3,000 award from NPMA for advancing science education curriculum.  Visit PestWorldForKids.org to watch “Club Roach” and other finalists’ entries.  Be sure to check back soon as the Second Annual Pest PSA Contest will commence with the new school year in September 2010.
