Mosquitoes are one of the surest signs of summer. Their annoying buzzing ruins outdoor activities and their bites leave itchy souvenirs on our skin. Alas, their bites can leave more than an itchy welt on human skin, as mosquitoes are known carriers of diseases such as West Nile virus, dengue fever and malaria. This year, experts, including the NPMA, are predicting a severe mosquito season due to the wet spring and flooding experienced by much of the country.
To help consumers battle pesky mosquitoes and other summer bugs, Missy Henriksen, vice president of public affairs for NPMA, recently appeared on NBCs morning program, TODAY, offering helpful tips for any summer situation. Check out the segment as well as some pictures we took on set. And be sure to use these tips to protect yourself, your family and pets from these stinging and biting pests!
